If he is stationary.......he can get hit real easy.

Running and reloading is much more applicable for what is coming our way

Meh, W.E.G. over on FALfiles once said...after firing 20 rounds of .308 you can change mags at your leisure.

Rule .308

It also helps to have a super decked out target gun perfect ergonimicaly designed for your hand, in a non high stress, easy going, quiet room where you can edit out your mess ups ;)

That said, its still impressive, but its not like he just picked up some dudes beat up service weapon and did it

Buddy...that is Travis Tomasie from the AMU (Army Marksmanship Unit). I have shot with/against him in matches MANY TIMES, and he HAS seen combat, and he IS the real deal. He can reload just as good (under .75 second shot-to-shot) with a limited gun (no optics, ports, extended mag well), and is about the fastest in the world (Just won the IPSC World Shoot in Bali Indonesia). I can tell you from experience...you don't want any part of this guy in a gun fight. Trust me...the youtube video does not do him justice. He's FASTER in person, under pressure, and SHOOTING ON THE MOVE. I am lucky to shoot 70% of him at a match, and I'm no slouch either.

Than I humbly stand corrected :36_3_12:

While I can agree with this, at the same time if it was me vs him and we're both running around, he's gonna get his reloads a lot faster than me or he won't have to stop as long. Both of which are a plus for him :-)

Ouch!
That was pretty mean of that guy.
Talk about developing a permanent mean ass flinch.
She was lucky that weapon didn't fire another shot when it hit her.

What Barrettone said is absolutely correct. These guys KNOW THEIR STUFF.

I know two armorers that worked for the AMU for a while. One of them even gave me the AMU decal. The other one developed the 6.8mm at request from Spec Op teams who came to him outside channels, begging for a 'better' round to shoot out of the M4 package.

:ok:

Thanks...now if I could just find more ammo to practice and live in a warmer year-round climate...I MIGHT be able to get up to 80%...:bear_rolleyes: You should see the beautiful facility they shoot at down there at Fort Benning in Georgia!!! I DREAM about having a home range that nice to practice at!!! They host the "Fort Benning 3-Gun" match every year and have ACTUAL M1 TANKS we shoot out of, and we throw real practice grenades that go off in the matches and shoot out of boats on the move in a man-made lake...TALK ABOUT A RUSH!!! We do some wild stuff up here in Michigan (see: mi3gun.com), but they really take the cake.

You guys should try 3-Gun sometime...what a rush!!! It makes you better with your guns under pressure (time constraints) and is fun to boot. Personally, I do well in pistol and shotgun (won the state tactical shotgun championship in 2008), but got my ass handed to me in rifle in the 3 gun aggregates...we all gotta have an achilles heel I guess. It is an entirely different game when you compete on the national circuit though...dem boys are more heavily sponsored and can shoot the lights out!!!
